What are the risks of untreated diverticulosis?

Uterine incisional diverticulum, if left untreated, is generally harmless to women who have no symptoms. However, some women experience clinically prolonged periods, which may exceed more than 7-10 days compared to normal menstrual periods, severely affecting the patient’s life.
The prolonged bleeding may lead to anaemia in women and may also lead to upstream infection. Therefore, when symptoms such as prolonged periods and heavy menstrual flow are diagnosed as this incisional diverticulum after a caesarean section, surgical treatment can be performed to reduce symptoms and prevent anaemia from occurring when medication is not effective.
