Can a pregnant woman feel excessive amniotic fluid?

If the amniotic fluid increases rapidly over a few days, the woman may experience persistent shortness of breath, abdominal tightness (contractions) and abdominal discomfort, and an ultrasound may show that the uterus is larger than the corresponding gestational week. If the amniotic fluid increases slowly over a period of weeks, the woman is usually asymptomatic or has only mild symptoms of pressure such as chest tightness and shortness of breath.
