How long does it take for a nasal mucosal ulcer to heal on its own?

There are individual differences in the self-healing time of nasal mucosal ulcers. If a traumatic ulcer is caused by frequent nose rubbing or nose picking, it can recover on its own in about 1 week for milder symptoms; if it is caused by infection, it will take longer to recover on its own, and the condition usually improves within 1 month. Nasal mucosal ulcers usually show symptoms of nasal bleeding. Most of them are related to nutritional metabolism, and the recurrence of nasal mucosal ulcers is caused by the lack of vitamins and trace elements in the body. If it is caused by infectious factors, it usually takes longer to recover and medications can be taken to accelerate the healing of the ulcer, such as topical erythromycin ointment, tetracycline or oral antibiotics such as amoxicillin and cephalosporin to improve the symptoms. In addition, patients can also cooperate with local heat compresses, physical therapy and other measures to shorten the healing time of nasal mucosal ulcers. If the patient’s nasal mucosal ulcer fails to heal for a long time or has recurrent attacks, it may be caused by other pathological factors, and hospital consultation is recommended. Patients should have balanced nutrition in daily life, drink more water, avoid spicy and stimulating food, pay attention to personal hygiene, and avoid bad habits that damage the nasal mucosa such as nose picking and nose picking.
