Reasons for children’s vision loss after wearing glasses

When a child’s vision decreases and affects learning, parents wear glasses more often than not. However, when they check their vision after wearing glasses, they find that their vision is getting worse and worse. Why does myopia deepen so fast? What should I do if my myopia keeps getting worse? Generally speaking, myopia in children grows by 50 to 75 degrees in one or two years, and in adults it grows by 50 to 75 degrees in two or three years, which is common if effective prevention and treatment is not carried out. There are two common causes of increasing myopia. One is pathological myopia. This is a pathology that occurs within the eye and is hereditary, and is characterized by a continuous increase in myopia and rapid progression. If myopia increases by more than 100 degrees in a year, or even 200 degrees or more, or reaches a cumulative total of 2,000 degrees, it is likely to be pathological myopia. There is no good treatment for pathological myopia. Another reason is the lack of attention to eye hygiene and incorrect eye habits. For example, the lighting is too bright or too dark, the time spent using the eyes is too long, and eye diseases such as impingement, ptosis, and keratitis are not treated in time. Some studies suggest that myopia is related to deficiencies in trace elements such as calcium and chromium, or excessive carbohydrate intake at a young age, but these have not been conclusively verified. The human eye does not mature until about 20 years of age, and most adolescents’ myopia gradually stabilizes, while the eyes of children and adolescents are growing and developing, so they have a high chance of developing myopia or myopia deepening. Relatively speaking, the vision condition of adults should be more stable, but watching computers, reading for too long and long-term eye fatigue make the condition of myopia deepening in adults increasing day by day now. Myopia may also be aggravated by unsuitable eyeglasses. If you find that your existing glasses cannot meet your vision requirements, you should go to a regular ophthalmology clinic for an examination to correct your myopia, replace your glasses with the right ones, and have them reviewed regularly. for adolescents under the age of 18, it is best to have an optometry once every six months or once a year, and to use dilated pupils to relax the ciliary muscles in your eyes to eliminate the inaccuracy of your optometry caused by pseudomyopia. Adults up to 40 years of age should also have their pupils dilated for the first time and undergo a detailed fundus examination to rule out eye diseases and crystal deformities. In terms of proper eye use, it is important to “conserve eye use” because the human eye has a limited amount of time to look close during the growth and development period, and if consumption exceeds this limit, pathological changes may occur, leading to myopia. Some people compare vision to a flashlight battery, many times a short time to use, a long life; a long time to use, because of acute consumption and shorten the life, so to give the eyes a reasonable rest time. You should try to do the following: 1, the daily time to look at the near things, the cumulative best not to exceed 6 hours. 2. Try to use listening instead of looking during the study process to reduce the load on the eyes. 3, the desk is best placed in front of the window without object shading. 4.If the desk lamp is incandescent, it should be 25-40 watts, and the light should not be directed to the eyes. 5, when operating the computer to maintain sufficient distance and posture. 6, do more outdoor exercise. Many Chinese medicine modalities such as herbal medicine and ear micro-needling can slow down the development of myopia, and if combined with habit correction can even prevent and control the continuous decline of vision. Therefore, the best way to protect your eyes is to actively seek treatment instead of being negative and letting it develop.
