Children should not watch TV too early

Canadian scientists report in the latest issue of the American Journal of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine that their study found that early initiation of television viewing in children can have a negative impact on all aspects of their later development. Researchers at the University of Montreal in Canada followed 1,300 children born between 1997 and 1998 over a long period of time to study the effects of television viewing on the development of these children. The results showed that if children start watching TV at the age of 2, they are prone to poor academic performance, obesity and poor socialization when they reach the age of 10. Researchers explained that young children can not distinguish between good and bad TV content, the content shown on TV will be “all absorb”. Premature television viewing can affect the brain development of young children, which is not conducive to the development of good habits and the formation of high values.
