What are the precursors of myopia in children?

Most children’s myopia is caused by bad eye habits and too much eye use at close range, in other words, it is all man-made. Protect children’s eyesight first of all to block the myopia formation environment, help children to develop scientific good eye habits. Parents want to talk, this habit how to change, children want to play with the phone we talk do not listen, this is true, but good habits can still be developed, bad habits can also be quit. What are the precursors of myopia? Careful mothers and fathers know that the occurrence of myopia is also traceable, there are precursors. For example, there is a serial, blurry feeling when looking at things. Squinting: When a distant target is difficult to see, children often take the squinting approach to compensate, because squinting when the eyelids can block part of the pupil, reduce diffuse light, reduce the impact of astigmatism, thereby temporarily increasing and improving visual acuity. Blinking: Frequent blinking can alleviate myopia and increase clarity of vision in certain procedures. Many people also see a little more clearly when they are in tears. Eye rubbing: When it is difficult to see a target, it is common to rub the eyes with your hands in an attempt to see better. Tilted head: often occurs is tilted head watching TV, but also because in tilted head, can reduce part of the diffuse light interference and influence, some children will even develop the habit of tilting their heads. Frowning: Frowning in an attempt to make both eyes “hard” as a way to improve vision. But in fact, this makes the development of myopia faster because of the pressure of the extraocular muscles on the eye. Eye wrenching: A few children often use their hands to wrench the skin of the outer corner of their eyes outward when they cannot see a distant target, achieving the same effect as squinting with a tilted head. Complaining: Due to unstable vision, some children may complain that the classroom is too dark, or that they cannot see because of the reflection of the blackboard, and many children say that they have poor vision during evening study. Parents should go to an eye hospital or outpatient clinic as soon as they notice a decrease in vision, and if it is not a particularly high degree, they can wear corneal shaping lenses to correct it. Protecting your child’s vision starts at an early age! At the age of 3-6 years old, the focus is on controlling the amount of time children spend watching TV and playing with their cell phones. This age of the child is relatively good guidance, plastic, adults will listen to what they say, the terrible thing is that we adults intentionally let children to play cell phones, such as adults to play mahjong, talk about things will throw the phone to the child to play, not knowing that the child is soon addicted to the future is not good. At the age of 6-10 years old, it is crucial to teach children the scientific method of using their eyes and to develop good eye habits. Once you have developed good habits in the lower elementary grades and know how to care for your eyes, you can rest easy in the upper elementary grades, middle school and high school. The important thing to repeat: the key to protecting your child’s eyesight is to help your child master the scientific method of eye care and develop good eye habits from a young age! In the upper elementary grades, one is not enough time and the other is that children begin to rebel a bit, and then it is relatively difficult to change habits. Lower elementary school is a critical period for protecting children’s eyesight, but often neglected by parents and schools! If our education is more responsible, parents know more about vision protection, 99% of children are not myopic, however, 99% of children are now myopic or are on the road to myopia, the next, have to be very heavy to discuss with everyone after the child myopia in the end how to do the problem. Eyeglass dealers and doctors say that myopia can not be restored, only first prescription lenses and other adults do laser surgery, this idea has been influenced by us for decades, so most parents have accepted this idea, but it is also this idea intensified the development of myopia! So in addition to glasses and surgery, is there a better way to protect and restore vision? Yes, but there must be conditions, not all myopia can be restored! The initial stage of myopia formation is just a disorder of the lens in the diagram, due to the frequent long time looking at objects at close range, the ciliary body over-contracted to produce fatigue, rigidity, spasm can not be free to relax, the lens thickened resulting in the ability to see far away. Unfortunately, very few parents notice changes in their child’s vision at this stage (as mentioned earlier, children do not take the initiative to talk to their parents). It is recommended that parents get a vision chart and stick it on the head of the home and give their child a simple test every month to detect the problem in time. Usually when parents find that their children’s vision is not good, most children’s vision has been 0.3 up and down, this vision to restore to 0.8 or 1.0 or more only a very few vision rehabilitation centers can do. Objectively speaking, this kind of vision is still relatively good recovery, a large extent is still only the lens disorder, not to talk about the eye axis becomes longer, but most of our vision rehabilitation services store lack of this ability and method.
