Does premature rupture of membranes always occur in breech position?

It is not certain how many weeks the water will break in the breech position, because if the fetus is breech in late pregnancy, the anterior amniotic sac will be unevenly stressed, and premature rupture of the fetal membranes will easily occur. After the rupture of fetal membranes, because the breech position does not cling to the inner cervical opening like the first position, there will be a gap at the cervical opening, so with the flow of amniotic fluid, the umbilical cord may be washed out beyond the cervical opening, or the umbilical cord may come out from the gap at the cervical opening, which is called umbilical cord prolapse. Cord prolapse is a serious complication and can result in intrauterine death if the pregnancy is not terminated in time. In the case of breech position, attention should be paid to reducing the amount of activity and avoiding actions that increase abdominal pressure during the late pregnancy to avoid premature rupture of the membranes.
