The painful symptoms of pulpitis can be relieved but not completely cured when pulp drainage is performed. The main cause of pulpitis in patients is increased exudation from the pulp chamber, which increases the local pressure and therefore produces pain. When the closed pulp chamber is opened with a proprietary instrument, the exudate is drained along the pulp chamber and the severe local pain is relieved. The pain is not completely cured because the pulp is only drained and the inflamed nerve is not yet cleaned out. Usually, under local anesthesia, the doctor will extract the inflamed pulp nerve from the pulp cavity and root canal, then clean the pulp nerve with special rinsing solution to completely remove the infected tissue in the pulp cavity, then thoroughly clean and enlarge the cavity area of the pulp nerve, and apply biocompatible material to tightly fill and close the dead cavity to prevent the occurrence of reinfection. Pulpitis mostly develops from cavities, so to prevent pulpitis attacks, patients should enhance oral hygiene maintenance, brush their teeth carefully, and clean the plaque around the teeth. At the same time, avoid eating too cold, too hot, stimulating and spicy food, regularly check the teeth in the mouth, find the cavity and fill the treatment in time to prevent the caries from progressing to pulpitis.
