Three myths about myopia

Myopia Myth 1: No need to protect after “vision fixation” The survey found that at present, the most important vision protection is for teenagers and their parents, while adult myopia patients over 20 or 30 years old are not only less frequent and less active in photometric review (optometry) than teenage patients, but also have a considerable decrease in the importance of prescription and lens replacement, and continuous The situation of continuous eye fatigue is also more serious. Even more, 1/3 of adults did not even bother to have their lenses examined during their latest prescription. The main reason for this phenomenon is that many myopic patients have misconceptions about eye hygiene. They believe that vision will also be shaped with the end of physical development, and that vision problems will not worsen after shaping, so there is no need to pay too much attention to vision protection. Myopia misconception two: glasses do not exist “overdue” Among the public who use resin lens glasses, 35% of respondents replace a pair of glasses in an average of one year or less, 35.9% of respondents replace a pair of glasses in an average of about 2 years, 29.2% of respondents replace a pair of glasses every three years or longer, 36.4% of respondents replace a pair of glasses every three years or longer. The majority of respondents replace their glasses when they are broken. Myopia myth 3: It doesn’t matter if you go to the hospital or not. In the survey, the public attaches more importance to the quality of lenses than to the optometry. More than 90% of the respondents think that the quality of lenses is very important to them, but they do not know how to identify and guarantee the quality of the lenses they buy, and more than 30% of the consumers only put their hopes on the opticians and salesmen.
