Intestinal thrombosis is most commonly caused by the dislodging of emboli from other sites, which accumulate in the intestinal vessels and cause abdominal pain and other conditions. The thrombus is fixed in one place, and when the patient has a stressful situation or strenuous activity, it happens to cause the plaque to dislodge, and the dislodged plaque will move with the blood circulation, thus forming an intestinal thrombus. The thrombus should be removed promptly through interventional treatment. The common procedure is to remove the thrombus from the femoral artery by inserting a guidewire through the femoral artery and separating it outside the body.
