How is rheumatoid treated?

Rheumatoid is really not that powerful of a disease, like this patient’s case, in early rheumatoid patients, if it is a standard treatment, no less than 70% of patients should be able to do it. However, why in reality, it seems that there are not so many of them, and the appearance of a case can make people so excited? Roughly speaking, the reasons may be as follows: a. The misconception of early detection and early treatment Generally speaking, the symptoms of rheumatoid rheumatism will appear relatively early, but there is no specificity. It is the pain and swelling of joints, stiffness, and even weakness, easy fatigue, etc., are all the symptoms of rheumatoid, but other diseases may also appear. Therefore, if you want to confirm the diagnosis of rheumatoid, you need to go to the rheumatology department of a regular hospital. Often patients, however, go into orthopedics, Chinese medicine, etc., because they are not specialists, and there is a risk of misdiagnosis or delay in treatment, resulting in continued progression of the disease. In particular, I would like to remind that because of our lack of awareness of side effects, we think that Chinese medicine has fewer side effects and choose Chinese medicine treatment in particular, which is actually a misconception in the acute development of rheumatoid patients in the early stage. It is a fact that rheumatoid is relatively easy to control in the early stage. Timely and regular systematic treatment with Western medicine can help control the spread of the disease as early as possible and fight for remission and stability, or even cure. Ping’an Yezi also has this experience and experience: “Chinese medicine is to see Dr. Dong Zhenhua, in fact, are some ordinary Chinese medicine, and even in the medicine diet have these herbs, but I eat the effect is quite good. The previous Chinese medicine eaten in other hospitals, scorpions, centipedes and snakes ate a bunch of stomach, but the disease is not under control. So now I think, not the more poisonous the more you can attack the poison ah. I’ve covered this issue in “Talking to Early Stage Patients about Adequate and Full Course of Treatment”. The experience of Heian Yezi is also the experience of sufficient amount and sufficient course of treatment. Especially about stopping medication, she said this: “The withdrawal and reduction of medication must listen to the doctor’s words, combine with your own feelings, and take your time. On several occasions, I was in a hurry to reduce my medication and ended up with a recurrence and more time spent. It’s like boiling water, if you remove the fire before it boils, it will take longer to boil. Patients must be patient with their condition. When I stopped taking the medication, my rheumatoid factor was negative, my blood sedimentation was in the teens, my C-reactive protein was normal, and my platelets were over 300. And this state was maintained for three or four months before I stopped methotrexate, and later, after I stopped the western medicine, I continued to take Chinese medicine for six months to consolidate.” Some of our patients, often may leap to stop the medication when their symptoms disappear, and some simply reduce or stop the medication on their own without communicating with their doctors. This is a potentially risky behavior, and many people often stop taking their medication soon after, and then rebound. For rheumatoid, the absence of symptoms and normal test indicators does not necessarily mean that the disease is stable and does not continue to develop, because the immune disease itself, the pathological process and symptoms, indicators, is not necessarily directly related to the relationship, the proliferation of immune cells in our body, growth is a certain cycle, only in the mature immune cells, the pathological process, as well as the immune response resulting in inflammatory response This inflammatory response is closely related to the symptoms. Therefore, our patients need to be under the guidance of a specialist for the standard treatment of rheumatoid. Third, the importance of specialist treatment to the formal hospital rheumatology treatment, although this is a consensus conclusion, however, among some patients, but may not be uncompromisingly implemented. If there is a problem with formal treatment, often instead of communicating with the doctor in a timely manner, they find their own way out – chatting with the patient, changing their own medication, changing the place and retreating, or even, turning to informal treatment that they once didn’t even believe in, but with the mentality of trying it out. The result of doing so will only increase the speed of rheumatoid development and delay the time of recovery. The experience of Pingan Yezi is: “Find the right doctor, follow the doctor’s advice: for more than 4 years, I started with two hormones and a piece of Arrowhead every day, but the cure was not the root cause, as long as the hormones were slightly reduced, the disease immediately rebounded. Later, I stopped the Chinese medicine, and my condition was maintained very well, without any swelling or discomfort. …… I’ve been taking methotrexate for just over a year. I was previously taking Erova (Leflunomide), but Erova was no longer able to control my disease and methotrexate was more suitable for me.” We now advocate individualization of treatment, to find a suitable drug for a patient to treat his disease. Immunosuppressants are different and there are certain differences in pharmacology. Which drug is the most suitable for you is something that needs to be explored and decided by the specialist in the process of treatment. Fourth, the importance of psychological adjustment and the combination of work and rest For early stage patients, if you can adjust your mind in time and maintain an optimistic mood, at the same time, reduce the intensity of work and physical exertion, it will certainly help the treatment. I have communicated with more than one patient, and we all have the feeling that if I don’t do so-and-so in the early stage, my rheumatoid may not be like this. The problem of the immune system is not simply a system problem, but something that is related to the state of the entire body, and the nervous system, endocrine system, etc. to some degree. When the immune disorder occurs, the body needs a relatively stable state. At this time, moods, exertion, etc., which we may not think are related to rheumatoid conditions, are in fact unknowingly holding the physiological situation of the whole body, and will affect the treatment of rheumatoid. Heian Yezi put it this way: “In the past few years, my whole body and mind has been on seeing the doctor and exercising, in addition, the mood is kept well. When I was too sick to walk, my husband told me that the self-healing ability of the human body is very strong, you will adjust your life and mentality, take your medication on time, and people themselves will adjust to the good direction. I have a patient sister rheumatoid healed, she is in addition to taking medication, is to go to the park every day to dance, at the beginning, she can only follow in the back of the comparison, now, she can already be very happy to dance. For an hour or so a day, her arms, legs and fingers, which were not easy to move, are now very flexible. And laughing and joking with fellow dancers, no worries, people also look younger. Now, she has stopped taking her medication. If you can, let’s all go dancing. Listen to the music, how cheerful. It is possible to enjoy life even when you are sick. When dealing with chronic diseases, three parts depend on treatment, seven parts depend on one’s own maintenance.”
