Kidney infections are mainly classified as pyelonephritis and renal abscess. Kidney infections are caused by a number of microorganisms, the most common being bacteria. The common bacteria are Escherichia coli and other enterobacteria, as well as Gram-positive bacteria, such as Escherichia coli Paracoccus, Proteus mirabilis, Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus, Alkali-producing bacteria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, etc. Very few are caused by fungi, viruses, protozoa and other microorganisms, most of these microorganisms enter the bladder from the urethra, and the upstream infection reaches the kidney through the ureter, or the bloodstream infection spreads to the kidney and causes kidney infection. Treatment with antibiotics is usually required, if it is a bacterial infection. If it is a fungal infection, antifungal drugs are used. If the infection is viral, it is treated with antiviral drugs.
