The correct way to spray, drip and rinse the nasal passages

  Nasal drugs, commonly used nasal drops, nasal sprays. The specific methods of use are: Nasal drops: 1.Take a flat lying position with a pillow under the shoulder, jaw up, nostril perpendicular to the ground, 3-5 drops each time, gently pinch evenly, keep this position for about 2 minutes.  2.Lie flat on the bed, head down 90 degrees, use the same as before.  Nasal spray: When using the nasal spray, do not tilt your head back so that your head is sitting slightly tilted forward, insert the nozzle of the medicine bottle into your nose towards the corner of your eye, but try to avoid touching the nasal mucosa, plug the other nostril and close your mouth, and breathe in while pressing the spray. Always press the nebulizer before withdrawing it. Remove the nasal spray nozzle and tilt your head forward as far as possible. After a few seconds sit up straight and the medicine will flow down into the throat while breathing through the mouth, or if needed, switch to the other nostril and repeat the previous process. Finally, rinse the nozzle with cold boiling water.  Method of rinsing the nasal cavity: rinse solution, the cheapest liquid is pure water.  Method: The patient’s head is tilted forward and the face plate is connected under the chin, use a 20ML syringe, remove the needle, insert it into the nasal vestibule towards the corner of the eye (the direction of the middle nasal passage), push in 20ML of pure water, and the rinse solution is slowly rushed into one side of the nasal cavity and flows out from the posterior nostril and mouth, at which time the nasal scabs and secretions are rinsed out with the water.  During the rinsing process, it should be noted that: 1. nasal rinsing should be done once or twice a day.  2. The pressure should not be too high when flushing to avoid complications such as earache.  3. Ask the patient not to talk when flushing to avoid choking and coughing.  4.After rinsing, ask the patient not to blow the nose forcefully to avoid excessive force causing nasal bleeding.  5.Flush the side of nasal cavity that is heavily blocked first, then flush the opposite side. Otherwise, the rinsing saline may be obstructed by the nasal cavity on the heavier side and instilled into the eustachian tube.  6, after washing, head tilted forward, so that the residual saline discharge in the nasal cavity, and then side by side, respectively, gently uncover the nose to help drain the net. Do not touch the nose too quickly or too hard, or pinch both nostrils at the same time to force the nose, which may lead to middle ear infection.  7. If coughing, vomiting, sneezing and other uncomfortable phenomena occur during rinsing, stop immediately and wait for a moment before rinsing again.
