How long can I sleep after a meal

It is generally recommended to sleep after 2 hours of eating. Because 2 hours or more between meals and sleep time, in addition to the digestive system is conducive to the absorption and utilization of nutrients, but also will not affect the quality of human sleep. First of all, after the food enters the human digestive system tissues, it usually takes about 2 hours to be basically absorbed by the intestinal tract tissues. At this time, the blood oxygen demand of the stomach, intestines and other digestive system tissues is gradually restored to a stable level, and the blood oxygen supply of the brain, heart and other tissues is relatively adequate. Sleep at this time can effectively improve the quality of human sleep and prevent the occurrence of insomnia, excessive dreaming and other symptoms. If you sleep immediately after a meal, it will not only affect the efficiency of the gastrointestinal tract tissues, but also easily cause adverse symptoms, such as gastric distension, indigestion, obesity, etc. In short, it is not recommended to sleep immediately after a meal to avoid increasing the burden on the gastrointestinal tract. Before going to bed, you can listen to music, read books, etc., so that the body as well as the nerves are in a relaxed state, which helps to improve the quality of sleep.
