Middle ear mastoid cholesteatoma is a common condition in otolaryngology, both congenital and acquired. Surgery is one of the main treatment methods. However, in some cholesteatomas, it is difficult to avoid recurrence despite surgical treatment, because if the cause of the disease still exists, such as poor function of the eustachian tube (the ventilation tube of the nasopharynx and middle ear), the tympanic membrane can still become invaginated again after surgery, resulting in recurrence of cholesteatoma. Don’t think that if your ears don’t flow pus, there is no problem. Early detection and early treatment is the best policy.
