Dust mites are a ubiquitous organism that are found in all human environments. But because they are so small, they are invisible without the use of a microscope. Yet it is these small things that can cause many allergic reactions in humans, such as allergic asthma, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis and hives. With the modernization of people’s living and office environments, the incidence of allergic diseases associated with dust mites is rapidly increasing. The main places where dust mites live are: floors, carpets, bedding, home decorations and filters of air conditioners. Dust mite prevention and control methods are as follows: 1. Reduce the relative humidity in the room Control the relative humidity (RH) to below 50%. Recent studies have shown that using high performance moisture absorbers and air conditioning units to reduce RH is both practical and effective. 2.Use packing sets to pack mattresses and pillows with special anti-mite materials is an effective way to reduce exposure to dust mites and their allergens. 3.Wash bedding with hot water Washing bed sheets and pillowcases with hot water higher than 55℃ every week can kill mites and remove most mite allergens. Washing hair daily is also a good way to control dust mite allergens. 4, replace soft decorations Carpets, curtains and home decorative fabrics accumulate debris debris, providing an ideal habitat for mites to breed, consider replacing them. 5. Freeze soft toys and small items After freezing soft toys and small items (such as pillows and special clothing) at -17°C to -20°C for at least 24 hours, these items can be washed to remove dead mites and allergens. Leaving mattresses and pillows outside for 24 hours in colder zones is also a good method.
