Stepwise decreasing therapy for urticaria

Urticaria is a common disease in dermatology, and is also a difficult disease. It is common to see a recurrence of urticaria when the medication is stopped. Repeatedly, itching is unbearable, and patients are extremely painful. Patients often describe it as better to die in the clinic. The causes of chronic urticaria are many, including allergies, exposure to outside air, dust mites, pollen factors, as well as dietary factors, personal constitution, psychological quality, etc. There are many causes. The current treatment is mainly anti-allergic treatment, mostly choose antihistamines application, most patients start with the drug is very effective, and then use the effect is not good, so switch to other anti-allergic drugs, or repeat the previous situation, the beginning of effective, soon can not stop itching. In the end, all anti-allergy drugs are ineffective. There are also some doctors who recommend patients to take central sedative drugs, so that drowsiness makes it difficult to work and live. There are even applications of immunosuppressive therapy, which damage liver and kidney functions. Based on the above, various hospitals and pharmaceutical companies are now conducting research and development on urticaria. Chinese herbal medicine is gradually coming into view. However, the effectiveness of Chinese medicine is full is also a common concern of doctors and patients, can not quickly stop itching. The treatment of chronic urticaria is advocated by using Chinese and Western medicines in succession and taking drugs in a stepwise decreasing manner. At the beginning of the stage, Chinese and Western medicines are taken at the same time, and Western medicines are mainly antihistamines. When the disease is controlled and the itch is not too strong, the dosage of Western medicines will be gradually reduced to once every two days, and then gradually reduced to once every three days or once a week according to the condition. If the itch can still be stopped once a week, stop using western medicine and take Chinese medicine alone. If the itch can still be controlled, reduce the dosage of Chinese medicine in the same way as western medicine until the drug is stopped. The advantage of this method is that western medicine can quickly control the disease, stop the itch and reduce the patient’s pain, while Chinese medicine can cure the root and consolidate the effect to achieve the purpose of no recurrence. It is worthy of clinical reference application.
