Will the fever go away with the new coronavirus?

Patients with mild clinical symptoms of novel coronavirus infection, with fever not exceeding 38°C, may reduce their fever on their own or after the application of drugs. In contrast, patients with more severe disease and also combined with severe bacterial infections often present with high fever, malaise, and respiratory distress. Therefore, self-isolation at home is recommended for mild cases. For patients with high fever over 38.5°C and long duration, prompt medical consultation is recommended. For patients with symptoms such as sneezing, nasal congestion and runny nose, fever that does not subside after rest, and manifestations such as mental lethargy, fatigue, diarrhea and vomiting, they should visit a fever clinic for laboratory tests, and later nucleic acid testing.
