Can I recover from blindness caused by novel cryptococcal meningitis?

Cryptococcal meningitis has the potential for sequelae such as blindness and blurred vision. It is most often caused by increased intracranial pressure complicated by the infection and secondary damage to the optic nerve. Once it occurs, it is more difficult to recover, so intracranial pressure should be controlled promptly during the treatment of novel cryptococcal meningitis to avoid irreversible damage to vision.
