Spherical nasal tip is characterized by enlarged and rounded nasal tip, which affects the aesthetics and requires surgical treatment. The traditional prosthesis placement method has the risk of making the nasal skin red and even breaking. Currently, the technique of filling the nasal tip with autologous rib cartilage, nasal septum cartilage and auricular cartilage free graft is widely used and has achieved better clinical results. However, all these methods have disadvantages such as long operation time and large trauma in the donor area, while the cartilage grafts have the possibility of absorption and deformation in the long term. We adopted an open nasal incision, preserved the cephalic portion of the lateral foot of the nasal cartilage that was removed in the traditional method, formed two tipped nasal cartilage flaps with the tip at the caudal end, folded and sutured them, and fixed them in the nasal vault to elevate the nasal tip. This method uses autologous nasal cartilage to correct spherical nasal tip, avoiding complications in the donor area caused by cutting rib cartilage and nasal septum cartilage, with less surgical trauma and more reliable blood flow of the tipped cartilage flaps, reducing the chance of long-term resorption and deformation of free grafted cartilage.
