Double eyelid surgery is the most popular

As the saying goes, “the eyes are the windows to the soul,” and in the Eastern world, the eyes are one of the most striking features of the face. Why do some people have single eyelids and others have double eyelids? During embryonic growth and development, the levator muscle mainly stops outside the upper eyelid plate, but also divides into fibers that stop deep in the skin in front of the upper eyelid plate. When the eyes are opened, the skin is pulled upward by the muscle fibers, resulting in a crease above the lid margin that is parallel to the lid margin, commonly referred to as the double eyelid, heavy lid, or upper lid margin crease. If this part of the muscle fiber fails to develop, no crease appears when the eye is opened, which is commonly referred to as unilateral eyelid, or supraglottic crease. Most Oriental people have single eyelids and are beautiful with double eyelids. What kind of eyes have good results after double eyelid surgery? Generally speaking, any single eye with narrow and long eye fissures, thin and tight upper lids, long and dense eyelashes, deeper eye sockets and higher nasal bridge is good for surgery and has obvious results. On the contrary, surgery is difficult and less effective for single eyes with a short garden, wide and short eye fissures, thick upper lids, loose and sagging skin, or protruding eyes, small eyes, shallow and flat eye sockets, and flat nasal bridges. How is double eyelid surgery done? The skin crease on the lid margin can be surgically formed, which is called double eyelid surgery. The principle is to create artificial adhesions between the deeper layers of the skin on the lid margin and the levator muscle. This can be done by either the incision method or the buried wire method. Double eyelid surgery, the icing on the cake, is a very demanding cosmetic procedure that can only succeed, not fail. The success of the surgery depends mainly on the experience and technology of the surgeon (50%), the condition of the person (30%), and the other 20% depends on the smoothness of the surgery, the healing ability of the incision, the occurrence of infection and other unpredictable factors. If there are infections such as folliculitis, active thrush, conjunctivitis, dacryocystitis and severe trachoma on the face before the surgery, it is not advisable to operate temporarily, and the surgery should be arranged after these diseases are cured. It is best to wash your hair and shower the day before surgery and change your clothes with the aim of minimizing the number of bacteria carried. Do not apply any cosmetics to the face on the same day. Apply cold compresses for 4-6 hours after surgery, but be sure to keep the eye dressing intact and clean. Change the dressing regularly, pay attention to rest, take oral antibiotics and avoid eating stimulating food. The stitches will be removed 6-7 days after surgery. Women should of course avoid their menstrual period. Double eyelid surgery will be swollen, general buried line method swelling faster, 3-5 days to become more natural, but the post-operative effect may not last long; incision method swelling slower, generally 8-10 days later began to become more natural, full recovery of some to 1 month later, but this is a “permanent” double eyelid. Tips Is double eyelid surgery painful? This is one of the concerns of many people who want to do double eyelid surgery, this surgery is carried out under local anesthesia, only in the injection of anesthesia into the needle and injection of drugs slightly feel swelling and pain, then the surgery local numbness loss of consciousness, the knife surgery can be said to be no pain. After surgery, there is generally no significant pain, and there is no need to take painkillers. Some people feel more pain when the stitches are removed than during surgery.
