Cerebrovascular disease is the number one cause of death in China. To prevent cardiovascular disease, one needs to control blood sugar, blood lipids, blood pressure, and lifestyle interventions. First, one needs to quit smoking and limit alcohol. Smoking can lead not only to a high incidence of cardiovascular disease, but also to a high incidence of cancer, as well as digestive disorders, respiratory damage, etc. Smoking can be of little benefit except to refresh the mind and reduce psychotic episodes. Don’t be in an environment where you smoke. Excessive alcohol consumption can lead to digestive disorders and a high incidence of cardiovascular disease. But small doses of alcohol can dilate blood vessels and reduce cardiovascular complications. Do not drink more than 50g of alcohol per day, that is, no more than one or two 50% high alcohol and two or two red wine. Second, the need to control blood pressure. Blood pressure needs to be controlled at a high pressure (systolic) less than 140mmHg, but higher than 90mmHg. low pressure (diastolic) less than 90mmHg, but higher than 60mmHg. for the elderly, this mark can be relaxed. Third, lipid control. The most well-studied is low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). Very high risk patients require less than 1.7mmol/L, high group less than 2.6mmol/L and low risk less than 3.1mmol/L. If it is difficult to achieve, it can be reduced by 40% from the original level. Lipid lowering mainly uses statin drugs. Fourth, lowering blood sugar. Control blood sugar so that glycated hemoglobin is less than 7.0%. Fifth, weight control. Make the body mass index (BMI) in 20-25, waist circumference less than 94cm for men and less than 80cm for women. Sixth, pay attention to diet. Diet to low-fat diet is better, cereals as the main food, vegetable-based dishes, more fruits and fish.
