What is anal bleeding without pain?

Anal bleeding without pain is very common in anorectal diseases. Diseases such as haemorrhoids, rectal cancer, colon cancer and polyps can all produce similar symptoms.
Haemorrhoid bleeding is often found when the patient wipes the anus after a bowel movement and is bright red in colour and can sometimes be in the form of a jet. If dark red stools and abdominal discomfort are present, anal bleeding may be caused by a digestive disorder and requires a detailed examination at a hospital.
