Due to the special anatomical location of nasal cavity and paranasal sinus cancer, the tumor is not easy to be detected at an early stage, and the surgery is easy to affect the function and cosmetic, so choosing the appropriate treatment is very important to improve the 5-year survival rate and the quality of patient’s life. 1.Highly differentiated squamous carcinoma: preferred radiotherapy ten surgery comprehensive treatment. The 5-year survival rate of squamous carcinoma of nasal cavity and sieve sinus can reach 70%, and the 5-year survival rate of early stage highly differentiated squamous carcinoma of nasal cavity and paranasal sinus with radiotherapy alone and radiotherapy and surgery has been confirmed by many research institutes. However, for middle and advanced lesions, the 5-year survival rate of radiotherapy and surgery is significantly higher than that of radiotherapy alone. Lowly differentiated squamous carcinoma and undifferentiated carcinoma: Due to the progressive growth of this pathological type of tumor and rapid development of lesions, most of them are in advanced stage at the time of diagnosis, and they are more sensitive to radiotherapy, so the simple radiotherapy can obtain more satisfactory curative effect. Undifferentiated carcinoma cannot be cured by surgery, so surgery may be wrong in this regard, and only simple radiotherapy should be given. Adenoid cystic carcinoma: Adenoid cystic carcinoma is a malignant tumor originated from small salivary glands. Early stage adenoid cystic carcinoma has similar efficacy of simple radiotherapy and surgery, and the comprehensive treatment of surgery + radiotherapy is a better treatment method for middle and late stage. Malignant melanoma: the prognosis of nasal cavity malignant melanoma is better than that of malignant melanoma originated in trunk, and the main reason of treatment failure is still distant metastasis. The main reason for treatment failure is still distant metastasis. The treatment is based on radiotherapy, surgery and chemotherapy. 5.Inverted papilloma: although inverted papilloma is a benign tumor from histology, it is easy to recur and develop progressively, so it should be treated as a malignant tumor. Surgery is the treatment of choice for early-stage involutional papilloma if there is no risk of functional or cosmetic compromise. For intermediate and advanced lesions, radiation therapy is more appropriate due to the functional and cosmetic limitations.
