Stomach ulcers do not necessarily hurt every day. The pain characteristics of stomach ulcers vary from person to person. Some people may be more sensitive to the pain produced by gastric ulcers and feel more intense, mostly presenting pain after meals. Some people with gastric ulcers do not feel any pain, but only show symptoms of stomach discomfort such as acid reflux and belching, and only find the presence of gastric ulcers when they have an electrogastroscopy. Patients with gastric ulcers may experience regular pain under the glabella or in the left upper abdomen, accompanied by bloating, nausea, vomiting, and, when complications arise, black stools. If a patient with gastric ulcer has been diagnosed by electrogastroscopy, he or she needs to be treated with regular medication under the guidance of a specialist.
