Anal dampness is a common clinical manifestation of localised anal disease and a concomitant symptom, mainly due to dampness and discomfort caused by a high level of localised skin secretions in the anal canal and anus. Patients usually feel a localised foreign body sensation in the anus, and in patients with severe symptoms, they may also experience localised itching with a tingling sensation in the anus.
