Hemorrhoids are known to cause local dampness in the anus, and its mainly due to the inflammatory reaction of hemorrhoids leading to increased secretions, or internal or external hemorrhoids repeatedly prolapsing outside the anus, while bringing out part of the fluid in the rectum, which results in long-term recurrent dampness symptoms in the anal area.
