Pituitary tumors, especially functional hormone-secreting tumors, can have two manifestations: one is the expansion of the occupying lesion, which can affect the local and adjacent tissues, and the pituitary tumor can have severe headache due to compression of the saddle diaphragm if the pituitary tumor is greater than 1 cm. The development to the lateral side can affect the cavernous sinus and compress the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th pairs of cerebral nerves. Secondly, abnormal secretion of hormones, or excessive secretion, or decrease of hormone secretion due to compression of normal pituitary tissue by tumor enlargement, manifesting as secondary gonadal, adrenal cortical, hypothyroidism, etc.
