Prevalence: Cervical erosion was and still is one of the “major problems” that plague clinical patients in obstetrics and gynecology. Reality: The concept has been abolished internationally for many years and the diagnosis has now been abandoned in China. Cervical erosion is not cervicitis, it is a local change of the cervix (difference in the degree of columnar epithelial ectropion) in response to changes in hormonal levels in the body, a misconception of a normal physiological process; no treatment is needed. Cervicitis: local discharge from the cervix, cervical that cyst, cervical hypertrophy, etc., need to be treated. TCT examination: the frequency of the examination does not change according to the presence or absence of cervical erosion.
