With the rapid increase in the number of sacral neuromodulation in our hospital year by year, more patients who may receive such treatment have written and called, asking about the indications and specific treatment process of sacral neuromodulation, so we hereby reply together, hoping to answer the questions of all patients, and if there are other unanswered questions, you can make specific inquiries online. I. Indications: This therapy is suitable for intractable and functional bladder, urinary tract and bowel dysfunction. 1. Indications recommended by FDA: (1) intractable urinary frequency-urgency; (2) urge incontinence; (3) non-obstructive dyspareunia (urinary retention); (4) functional fecal incontinence or constipation. 2. Indications to be recommended by FDA (with proven clinical efficacy): interstitial cystitis/pelvic floor pain syndrome; neurogenic vesicourethral dysfunction. All of the above diseases require detailed examination by specialist doctors to confirm the diagnosis, and the application of sacral neuromodulation treatment can be considered only after conservative treatment is ineffective. As this treatment is divided into two stages: Phase I testing and Phase II permanent implantation, which involves hospitalization during the testing period after Phase I treatment and subsequent reimbursement, we would like to introduce two solutions of our hospital at this stage. (At present, all consumables for sacral nerve adjustment cannot be reimbursed in any form in all hospitals in China) 1.Chaoyang Hospital headquarters: the bed space in our hospital headquarters is relatively tight, so if you choose to stay in our hospital headquarters for the first phase of surgical treatment, the hospitalization time is 3-5 days, the bed fee is 120 yuan/day, during which the family cannot accompany (this is the hospital regulation, in fact, there is no need to accompany before and after the surgery, the surgery is very Minimally invasive), after discharge from the hospital to rent a hotel near the hospital (hotel prices near the hospital about 100-200 yuan / day), or in Beijing relatives, friends borrowed home, after surgery once a week to our hospital with Dr. Zhang Peng face to face, for follow-up and parameter adjustment. If the implantation result is satisfactory after 2-4 weeks, the patient can be re-admitted to the hospital for a second surgery to implant the pacemaker. 2. Yanda Hospital: Yanda Hospital is our partner hospital and we have senior and high level doctors in our department all year round. I regularly go to Yanda Hospital for surgery. If patients need to travel between the headquarters and Yanda Hospital, there are 1-2 shuttle buses every day, so patients do not have to spend money and find their own cars to get there. There are enough beds in Yanda Hospital, and the accommodation and hardware are more advanced than those in the main office. Patients do not need to be discharged after the first stage of surgery, but can stay in the hospital all the time for observation of symptoms and efficacy (the bed fee is about 80-100 RMB/day, depending on the actual bed allocation at that time, which actually includes patients and family members staying with them), and family members can stay with them, so basically they do not need to go out to rent a hotel alone. After the surgery, the patient will come to our main office by shuttle bus once a week to have an interview with Dr. Zhang Peng for follow-up and parameter adjustment. If the implantation results are satisfactory after 2-4 weeks, a second surgery to implant the pacemaker is possible. In view of the fact that the pacemaker itself cannot be reimbursed for consumables, as well as the bed problem and the problem of renting a hotel, I suggest that out-of-town patients may give due consideration to visiting Yanda Hospital, so that they can be hospitalized in a more timely manner, which can actually save a large part of the cost and facilitate post-operative care. Both places are operated by Dr. Zhang Peng himself, the surgical procedure is the same, the hardware and equipment of Yanda Hospital is superior, and there is basically no need for special treatment after the operation. Third, the cost of sacral nerve adjustment At present, the total cost of hospitalization for phase I and II in our hospital is about 120,000 yuan, and there is no need to purchase consumables outside the regular hospital procedures. At present, the cost of pacemaker consumables is completely free of charge, and the concessions are large.
