New pneumonia onset in a few days

The time from infection to onset of novel coronavirus pneumonia varies from patient to patient and the time of presentation can also vary. If the time is short, the disease may develop in one day, a long incubation period can be 1-2 weeks, and individual cases can be longer, generally developing in about two weeks. This is the reason why patients with suspected novel coronavirus need to have an isolation period of more than two weeks. Some patients may present with cough and fever; some typical patients have an onset of severe cough, persistent fever and progressive dyspnea; mild patients may not present with fever or only a low fever, or only a mild cough; severe patients may present with organ damage, including respiratory failure with acute respiratory distress syndrome, and liver metabolism or heart-related damage.   Content source: Dr. You Lai
