It is still important for patients with coronary artery disease to adopt a healthy lifestyle after surgery. Patients should be careful to choose light foods that are rich in vitamins, low in animal fat, low in cholesterol, and low in calories. Do not eat high-calorie foods because you have lost weight after hospitalization and think you need to take a big tonic after surgery. Diet should follow the following principles: (1) Control total caloric energy: maintain caloric energy balance, prevent obesity, and maintain body weight in the ideal range. (2) Control fat and cholesterol: eat less food containing saturated fatty acids and less animal fat containing high cholesterol, such as animal liver, brain, kidney, bone marrow, fish roe, lard, cream, etc. (3) The quality and quantity of protein should be appropriate: plant protein, especially soy protein, should be increased. (4) Sugars: use compound sugars and control the intake of monosaccharides and disaccharides. (5) Eat more vitamin-rich foods: such as fresh vegetables and fruits, and consume less or no stimulating foods, such as strong tea, coffee, spicy condiments, and strong alcohol. (6) If combined with hypertension or heart failure, salt intake should be limited: do not eat too salty, and promote a low-salt diet.
