How to treat anorexia nervosa? -Pick Four Stitches Therapy and Pediatric Tuina Therapy

Anorexia is a common disease of the spleen and stomach in children, characterized by long-term loss of appetite and aversion to eating. The child’s appearance is less florid and thin, but he is still in good spirits and active as usual. The disease is caused by improper feeding (eating at irregular times and in irregular amounts), and poor diet (excessive consumption of raw and cold foods, sweets, snacks and partial food), resulting in poor spleen and stomach circulation. The disease can occur at all ages, but is more common in children aged 1-6 years, with a higher incidence in urban children. The onset of the disease is not seasonal, but the symptoms can be aggravated in summer when summer heat and humidity are in season. The prognosis is good because the symptoms are not obvious except for loss of appetite. However, if the disease lasts for a long time, it may cause deficiency of qi and blood and poor resistance, which may lead to other diseases and even turn into chancre. Anorexia does not include the loss of appetite due to external evil and certain chronic diseases. The treatment of anorexia in Chinese medicine has a long history of acupuncture and tui-na therapy, which is effective and has few side effects. In our acupuncture and massage clinic, we mainly use the combination of picking four sutures therapy and pediatric massage therapy (parents can be guided to home treatment) to prevent and treat anorexia nervosa. The Four Sutures point is an odd point outside the meridian and is intrinsically related to the Sanjiao, the Gate of Life, the liver and the small intestine, and is an effective point for the treatment of anorexia and noma. Needling Sijian and squeezing out the mucus can strengthen the spleen and stomach, eliminate food and stagnation, remove phlegm and dampness, harmonize the internal organs, smooth all the veins, and relieve heat and annoyance, which is mainly used to treat anorexia, chancre, and food and grain failure in children. Modern medical research, it is believed that acupuncture of the four suture points can increase the secretion of saliva, improve the role of salivary amylase, improve gastrointestinal blood circulation and stimulate gastric juice secretion, which can increase the content (digestive strength) of pancreatic protease, pancreatic amylase and pancreatic lipase in the intestine. Strengthen the gastrointestinal tract peristalsis, promote the absorption of intestinal mucosa and other effects. For malnutrition combined with rickets, after acupuncture of the four suture points, serum calcium and phosphorus were found to rise, alkaline phosphatase activity decreased, and as a result, calcium and phosphorus deposition increased, contributing to the bone development and growth of the affected children. According to clinical observation, in mild cases of anorexia and chancre, picking the accumulation once is seen to improve the child’s appetite and increase the diet. It is also possible to cure one course of treatment, and one course of treatment for severe cases, and two to four courses of treatment. The treatment of paediatric massage has the function of eliminating food and stagnation, harmonizing the stomach and strengthening the spleen, unblocking the meridians, harmonizing the qi and blood, and adjusting the internal organs. The common methods of pediatric massage therapy for anorexia include rubbing the board, clearing the large intestine, rubbing and pressing the internal cavity, pushing the abdomen and yin and yang, masturbating the abdomen, rubbing and pressing the foot and three li, pushing the seven bones, pushing the spine, and pediatric chiropractic. 5, precautions 1, master the correct feeding method, correct poor eating habits, regular and quantitative feeding, less sweet and sticky products.
