Pink Ribbon Salon 2013

  On October 19, 2013, during the World Breast Cancer Care Month, our breast surgery department successfully held the Pink Ribbon Salon 2013 – “I am still me” in the conference room of radiology department on the first floor.  With the slogan of “Hold your head high and live a healthy life”, the event aimed to help breast cancer patients regain confidence in recovery and integrate into family and social life. According to the introduction of Tong Tong, the director of breast surgery of our hospital, the theme of this activity is “I am still me”, which means to encourage breast cancer patients: “God just left a ‘kiss mark’ on my body, the confident and beautiful me has never disappeared! The confident and beautiful me has never disappeared!”  At the event, many post-operative and recovered breast cancer patients gathered together to share their treatment experience and insights with each other, in an optimistic and harmonious atmosphere. Director Tong Tong gave a lively presentation on “Standardized treatment and psychological rehabilitation of breast cancer” to the patients and their families. Nurse Lu Zongyan gave guidance to patients and family members on physical rehabilitation treatment, and the nurse demonstrated the whole set of post-operative rehabilitation exercises on site.  The event also set up an interactive exchange session, where questions on common post-operative precautions were asked on the spot, and Director Tang Tong gave careful answers to a series of questions raised by the patients.
