Is altitude redness essentially an inflammatory skin condition?

Plateau redness can occur with skin inflammation, but it is not skin inflammation by nature.
In addition to the painful mucosal damage caused by redness and frostbite, the typical manifestations of severe inflammation, such as swelling, heat and pain, do not occur in general plateau redness. The essence of plateau redness is mainly due to long-term strong UV exposure, resulting in damage to the stratum corneum of the face, combined with the dilation of capillaries in low temperatures, the combination of which leads to the appearance of plateau redness.
