Which medications are likely to cause dystonia and if it occurs, will it go away if I stop taking the medication?

The main medications that tend to cause dystonia are certain antipsychotics such as haloperidol, chlorpromazine, endorphin tablets and promethazine. In addition, metoclopramide, reserpine and cranial painkillers can also cause it. Most drug-induced dystonia disappears when the medication is stopped, but some cases continue and require medication to control them.
