What is DST test

The full name of DST is Developmental Screen Test, which is a neuropsychological developmental checklist for children aged 0-6 years old, scoring children’s developmental quotient and IQ based on daily performance, which can effectively reflect children’s early intelligence level: 1. gross motor: refers to the larger movements of the head and neck, trunk and limbs, such as walking, running, jumping, turning over, lifting the head, etc., and observing whether the posture is 2, fine motor: mainly the flexibility of hand movements, and whether they can match the other five senses, such as building blocks, folding paper, grasping, drawing, etc.; 3, adaptability: by observing children’s five senses, five senses refers to seeing with the eyes, touching with the hands, tasting with the mouth, smelling with the nose, listening with the ears, and then combining large and fine movements, with the child’s response to the surrounding environment, to determine the child’s adaptability; 4.Language: mainly observe children’s state from imitation, pronunciation and communication, and judge the language expression ability; 5.Social: mainly observe children’s comprehension of external things and behavior patterns. Usually the measurement result ≥85 is considered normal developmental quotient, and the result <75 is considered low developmental quotient. Parents can intervene early based on the results of each test and evaluate their children regularly, every three months within one year of age, every six months at age one and above, and for at-risk children, the testing time can be shortened.
