Reflux esophagitis is not the same as bile reflux. Reflux esophagitis is mainly due to excessive secretion of gastric acid and relaxation of the cardia of the stomach, resulting in reflux of gastric acid into the esophagus, causing corrosive damage to the esophagus, resulting in erosion and ulcers, while bile reflux is due to relaxation of the pylorus of the stomach and reflux of bile from the duodenum into the stomach, resulting in alkaline damage to the stomach. Reflux can also flow back into the esophagus from the stomach, causing the corresponding symptoms of reflux esophagitis, so the causes of reflux esophagitis and bile reflux are not the same, but may develop into the same serious result.
