The treatment of esophagitis takes several days

There are many different types of esophagitis, and the duration of treatment varies somewhat, from 1-2 weeks to 6-8 weeks or even longer. The most common clinical esophagitis is reflux esophagitis caused by gastroesophageal reflux disease, in addition to some mycotic esophagitis, or drug and chemical burn esophagitis. The duration of treatment varies from one type of esophagitis to another, and the more difficult to treat clinically is reflux esophagitis. Generally, reflux esophagitis has a long course, is chronic and prone to recurrence, and the application of PPI is recommended for at least 6-8 weeks for those with erosions, and may need to be maintained for more than 8 weeks for those without erosions. For mycotic esophagitis, clinical treatment requires antifungal drugs, which generally give good results in about 1-2 weeks. In esophagitis caused by chemical injury, the degree of injury varies and so does the course of treatment, and the acute phase is also usually about 1-2 weeks. Therefore, there are differences in the duration of treatment for different causes of esophagitis, which must be determined by medical advice and endoscopy.
