What is associated with the development of breast cancer?

Women with a family history of breast cancer have a higher risk of developing breast cancer than the general population. Fertility factors are higher for women who have early menarche, late menopause, first childbirth over 30 years of age, or have never had children. Environmental factors include migration to areas with a high incidence of breast cancer, long-term use of birth control pills and estrogen-containing foods and drugs, chronic stress or mood disorders, and exposure to excessive ionizing radiation. Nutritional factors include chronic alcohol consumption, high protein and high fat diet, and low consumption of grains or vegetables. Others include postmenopausal obesity, suffering from other breast diseases such as atypical breast enlargement.
