Telescopic distal radius fracture

Distal radius fractures are those in which the elbow and wrist are straight at the time of injury, and are most likely to result in a dorsal or radial displacement of the distal radius. Most of these fractures can be solved by conservative treatment, for example, by repositioning the fracture by manipulation and then external fixation with a small splint or plaster, and then the fracture will slowly recover. However, if the fracture is comminuted or involves the joint surface, resulting in collapse or unevenness of the joint surface, surgical treatment must be considered. The surgical treatment method is surgical incision and repositioning, followed by internal fixation with a plate or a kyphosis pin.
