The main steps of splint fixation for an extension-type distal radius fracture are as follows: 1. apply a local herbal ointment that activates blood circulation, reduces swelling and pain; 2. place a fixation pad, and place a flat pad on the dorsal and proximal palmar sides of the distal radius; 3. place a splint, first on the palmar side, then on the dorsal side, then on the radial side, and then on the ulnar side; 4. tie the splint, first with two ties in the middle, then on the distal side, and then on the proximal side; 5. The tightness of the bandage should be such that the bandage can move up and down 1cm on the splint. 5.Wrap the bandage and fix it, then suspend the affected limb in front of the chest with the neck and wrist band. 6.Check the patient’s blood circulation, do the pressure clip test, adjust the tightness of the bandage to prevent blood circulation disorder.
