The recovery time for a distal radius fracture is about three months. X-rays must be taken at the beginning of the distal radius fracture, and if the fracture is well aligned, it can be fixed directly with a cast or brace. If the alignment of the fracture is not good, it is recommended that the fracture be repaired by manipulation to restore the alignment of the fracture, and then fixed with a cast or brace for about one month. The forearm should be suspended from the chest for one month to help the swelling and healing of the fracture. X-rays can be taken at one month, and if there is continuous bone scab at the fracture end, the external fixation can be temporarily removed and functional training can be gradually started. The fracture will heal completely in about three months, and only after the fracture has healed in three months can the wrist be used for sports.
