In the case of a fracture of the 4th sacral vertebra, the displacement is not very large and can be resolved by conservative treatment, such as a multi-point lateral recumbent bed, combined with topical and oral medications, and the fracture can be stabilized in 4-6 weeks. In the case of a vertebral fracture of the 4th thoracic or 4th lumbar vertebra, the treatment and duration of treatment must be determined by the severity of the fracture. If the fracture is not very displaced or the compression is not very obvious and does not affect the spinal nerves, it is usually treated conservatively, lying flat on a hard bed, and recovery will be slow in about 6-8 weeks. However, if the fracture is very significantly displaced and compresses the spinal nerve, surgery is necessary. The surgery is to cut open the fracture block to reset it, release the compression on the spinal nerve, and then do the internal fixation of the spinal arch nail rod. In case of combined spinal nerve injury, appropriate rehabilitation must be done later.
