What causes soreness, pain and heaviness in the back of the neck and neck in young people?

In recent years, many young people and students have come to the clinic with neck pain, cervical stiffness, back soreness and heaviness that seriously affect their studies, work and life. He/she denies any history of neck and back injury. Then why did the above symptoms occur? The patients themselves did not understand, and their parents were also confused. After careful questioning of medical history and habits, we found that they all had a common feature, namely, prolonged head bowing or fixed position, and lack of effective movement of the neck. Because the neck is in flexion position for a long time, the occipital fascia, head pinch muscle, sacrospinous muscle and trapezius muscle at the back of the neck are under tension, tissue ischemia, micro-injury, local exudation, tissue repair, so that the damage, repair and injury are constantly cycled and aggravated, the above-mentioned tissue degeneration, mechanization and sclerosis, so that the small nerves and blood vessels penetrating in these tissues are compressed and degenerated, and then symptoms such as soreness, heaviness and pain appear, and in severe cases It can radiate upward to the head and cause headache and dizziness; downward dispersion can cause heavy, sore and swollen pain in the back. Clinically, the diagnosis is cervical myofasciitis, and some experts diagnose it as cervical cervical spondylosis. Imaging examinations often have no obvious abnormal findings, and some patients may present with abnormal cervical curvature. History and clinician’s examination are the key to diagnosing the disease.
