Hypokalemia usually does not cause nocturia, and the clinical manifestations of hypokalemia can sometimes be very inconspicuous, mainly manifested as muscle weakness, intestinal paralysis manifestation, cardiac abnormalities, and so on. 1. Muscle weakness: Hypokalemia initially manifests as muscle weakness, which firstly involves the limbs and then the trunk muscles, and once it involves the respiratory muscles, respiratory difficulty or asphyxia may occur. Hypokalemia can also cause tendon reflexes to decrease or disappear. 2. Intestinal paralysis: patients may have anorexia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, loss of intestinal peristalsis and other intestinal paralysis manifestations. 3. Cardiac abnormalities: ECG mainly shows abnormal conduction block rhythm. Typical changes are lowering, flattening or inversion of T wave, lowering of ST segment, prolongation of QT interval and U wave. Patients with low potassium should go to the hospital in time and receive standardized treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
