Stomatitis with erythromycin usually heals in a few days

Patients with stomatitis will get initial relief after 3-4 days of effective treatment, and full recovery will take about 1 week. Stomatitis is an inflammatory condition caused by infection, irritation or allergy in the corners of the mouth, and common sensitive bacteria include Candida albicans and Staphylococcus aureus. The main symptoms of the patient are significant swelling, cracking and ulceration of the skin around the corners of the mouth. Depending on the cause of the disease, there is variability in treatment. For infections, topical treatment with antibacterial drugs can be used, such as clotrimazole ointment, fusidic acid cream, erythromycin ointment, etc., which generally improve significantly in about 3-4 days and heal in about 1 week. However, it should be noted that some patients with stomatitis may also be caused by malnutrition and should take zinc supplements as the main treatment principle. In addition to zinc supplements such as zinc glycyrrhiza capsules, calcium zinc gluconate oral solution, compound zinc iron calcium oral solution, you can also choose to eat more zinc-rich foods such as pork liver, oysters, mussels, etc. During the treatment of stomatitis, tongue licking should be avoided to avoid affecting the healing of the affected area and increasing the risk of secondary infection.
