How many days does a cough usually heal on its own?

The duration of the cough may vary depending on the cause of the cough and the patient’s own resistance. Coughs caused by common viral infections in life usually resolve themselves in about 1-2 weeks. Cough symptoms can occur for a variety of clinical reasons. In general, coughs caused by common infections with mild symptoms can improve in about 1-2 weeks. Once the cough has not improved for 2 weeks, it is important to be alert for bronchitis or pneumonia, tuberculosis, and other diseases. In addition, in cough variant asthma, the symptoms are usually relatively mild, and the cough can be completely reduced or disappeared within minutes by leaving the allergen and avoiding re-exposure.
