What is type 2 diabetes

Also called adult-onset diabetes, it mostly develops after the age of 35-40 and accounts for more than 90% of diabetic patients. type 2 diabetic patients do not completely lose the ability to produce insulin in the body, some patients even produce too much insulin in the body, but the effect of insulin is greatly reduced, so the insulin in the patient’s body is a relative lack.

The secretion of insulin in the body can be stimulated by certain oral medications. However, some patients still need insulin therapy as in type 1 diabetes in the later stages.

Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus and non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus are the former names for type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus, which are now abandoned by the international and domestic diabetes community because they often cause misunderstanding of insulin therapy in diabetic patients.
