Joint pain is a common clinical symptom, many patients in the joint pain, especially in the joint local fear of wind and cold, often think they have “rheumatism”, so they take their own painkillers, and buy ointment a paste, which is harmful. Because rheumatism is a generic term, it includes many different nature of the disease, if not timely and correct diagnosis and treatment, some rheumatic diseases will cause disability or even life-threatening. The following is a brief introduction to several common rheumatic diseases and their onset characteristics. 1, rheumatoid arthritis: rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease with chronic progressive joint lesions, which is characterized by symmetric polyarthritis, with the most common involvement of the hands, wrists, knees, ankles and feet joints. Without proper treatment, rheumatoid arthritis can repeatedly persist, eventually leading to joint deformity and loss of function. 2, ankylosing spondylitis: ankylosing spondylitis is a systemic disease of unknown origin, with chronic inflammation of the central joints. Mainly involving the sacroiliac joint, hip, intervertebral joints, the sacroiliac joint lesions are most common, and about 1/3 of patients can be seen in the peripheral joint symptoms. The main pathological changes are calcification of joints and peri-articular tissues, ligaments, etc., and eventually bony ankylosis occurs. There is a family history of the disease, and more than 90% of patients are HLA-B27 positive. 3. SLE: SLE is a typical systemic autoimmune disease. Some patients are misdiagnosed as rheumatoid arthritis due to swollen and painful finger joints as the first symptom. However, the joint lesions of this disease are less severe than the joint inflammation of rheumatoid arthritis, and the extra-articular systemic symptoms such as pteroidal erythema, alopecia, and proteinuria are more prominent. The serology is characterized by the presence of multiple autoantibodies. In conclusion, patients with joint pain and other symptoms must visit the rheumatology department for systematic examination and treatment by rheumatologists to avoid lifelong regret of joint dysfunction, deformity, and loss of labor force due to mistreatment.
